A Day at a time

Payton is showing signs of infection. They're giving her more antibiotics and have sedated her quite a bit so her body can rest and fight off the infection. As the doctors have said, it's amazing that she hasn't had one yet, but it's still hard to have it happen. So they are still going to do the echo to look at her heart, but they will not do a turn down on the ECMO. With an infection, she's not viable for a transplant because when you get a transplant you're on immunosuppresants (so the body doesn't reject the new organ) - not good when you have an infection. This doesn't mean she can't still have a transplant, but she'll have to get rid of the infection first. I've been praying a lot in the last 24 hours, but my nerves are pretty shot today. Aaron will be here most of the week which helps. The Lord continues to provide, though, and we're so grateful for that. Thanks so much for you prayers and encouragement. We love you, the Joneses

Dear Aaron, Heather and Payton -

A day does not go by that we do not talk to God about your precious family! We will continue to pray diligently with you for Payton. God's Mighty Hands encircle you three every second, minute, hour and day! Try not to get too discouraged. His grace is sufficient - as you so wonderfully remind us in your blogs.

In His Love, Norah, Airth, Heather and Rachel

God you are the Great Physician and you can heal Payton's infection. I ask that you would do this quickly as she is in such a delicate state. God, sustain her, continue to give her strength and help her body to fight this off. Be with Aaron and Heather during this time of waiting - comfort them as they have never experienced before. They need your love and your arms to hold them. Thank you God for the gift of Payton and thank you for Aaron and Heather opening their lives up to us so we can join them in prayer and provide support.
In Jesus Name - Amen

You will be heavy on my heart all day Heather as well as precious Patyon - love you - Jen Duey

Hi Aaron, Heather & Payton,

We just got back from Canada and I just got done reading all your updates. Thank you for being so faithful in keeping us up to date with what's happening with you and little Payton. We are praying that God will heal her infection and she'll be good to go for a transplant once again. Hang in there. God is still in control and He will sustain you through the days ahead.

We love you guys!

Hi, I heard about you through another Campus Crusade person, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm lifting you up to our Dad. I don't know exactly the right words, but as your sister in Christ, I love you and your beautiful baby. May God pour out His grace to you in many ways.

In Him,
Jennifer

Dear Aaron and Heather,
Yesterday the Lord brought you to mind just after noon, and we paused to pray together. As we were praying for you again last night, the Lord brought Psalm 91 to mind... "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, I will say of the Lord, 'He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, in whom I trust.' Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.... 'Because he loves me,' says the Lord, 'I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With a long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. Psalm 91:1-6,14-16

As I have just been awakened in the night and moved to pray for you, this continues to spur my prayers. Oh, dear friends, I pray that you would experience rest in the shadow of the Most High God. I pray that you would experience Him as your refuge and your fortress... that His faithfulness would be your shield... that you would not fear the terror of night... that you would know and experience His power that is mighty to save.

This is long, but I trust He wanted me to share it with you for a reason. We are privileged to "storm the gates of heaven" and come before our Great God with you. You are so dear to us.

Believing God with you,
Dave and Sarah

Dearest Heather & Aaron,
Lord, I thank you that you are there every minute and involved in every detail. You are not distant and detached, but immersed in this situation. I pray that this family would know your peace and strength and comfort as your powerful presence fills the hospital room and their hearts. Cleanse her body of every infection and heal her, Lord...we trust in your will to be done.

We love you and continue to pray for you all...Ellisa for the Lettners
