Still on ECMO

We spoke with the surgeon, and when they pulled back the support of the ECMO, her heart showed signs of deteriorating. So she needs to stay on it for now. They'll keep an eye on her and may try again in a few days or a week. But at this point she's ready for a transplant. We're hoping that she could maybe come off the ECMO as it would give us more time to wait for a heart. She's limited in how she'll be able to stay on life support and still be able to receive a heart as the body naturally doesn't like being on that machine. So that's what we know for now. As usual, we'll keep you posted. Thanks so much for praying with us.

Thanks for keeping us updated on how she is doing after they pulled back the ECMO. We will continue to pray that the Lord will strengthen her little heart... that she would be able to come off the ECMO soon. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. It was great to hear your voice last night, Heather! I look forward to seeing you... and I'm curious to know how you and Payton are progressing in your discovery of the Little House books! Much love to you all!

I know that it is belated, but Happy Birthday Heather. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to celebrate your special day when there is so much other "stuff" going on. My prayer is for Payton as well as for you and Aaron. I pray that God will continue to uplift you and support you and wrap you in His loving arms during this time of great stress.

The days keep going by and Payton keeps hanging tough. Praying that they can get the ECMO out of there. Think of how much more room you will have to move around the room without that thing in the way :)

Teara e-mailed me the video. Oh my I have watched it over and over. You all look like movie stars in it. She is the most beautiful little girl around. How wonderful to have sound with it. I have not sent it to anyone. But the minute you get the OK I am going to.:) Still praying,

As we have been praying for you these past few days the Lord has brought Psalm 16:8 to mind... "I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand I will not be shaken." We pray you continue to experience the strength of Him who is at your right hand. Our love and prayers to you...

Beloved Aaron, Heather and Payton -
The 8th Psalm was a favorite of my grandfathers' and helps me put into perspective the majesty of God and our insignificance in comparison. Turning our eyes from our circumstances to God is such a blessing and I offer you the 8th. You are in our thoughts and prayers continually. May God continue to fill you with His joy and peace.

In His Perfect Love, Norah, AIrth, Heather and Rachel

Psalm.8:1 O Lord, our Lord,how excellent is thy name in all the earth! You reveal your majesty in the heavens above!

8:2 From the mouths of children and nursing babies you have ordained praise on account of your adversaries,so that you might put an end to the vindictive enemy.

8:3 When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made,and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place,

8:4 Of what importance is the human race,that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should pay attention to them,

8:5 and make them a little less than the heavenly beings? You grant mankind honor and majesty;

8:6 you appoint them to rule over your creation;you have placed everything under their authority,

8:7 including all the sheep and cattle,as well as the wild animals,

8:8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and everything that moves through the currents of the seas.

8:9 O Lord, our Lord,how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
