6 months

We took pictures of the kids in their Christmas clothes on January 6th because Liv spent the Sunday before Christmas with a stomach bug.  Poor thing - she rebounded by Christmas, thank goodness.

6 months ago tomorrow Tate flew home with us.  I still can't believe how well he's done.  A few weeks ago, we moved his crib from our room into Liv's room.  Aaron and I were in awe of how easy it was.  We used to sit in the room with him until he fell asleep.  When we moved him that first night we just tucked both kids in and left, and that was it!  He's done perfectly!  Liv sleeps better having someone else in the room with her, and Tate has done fantastic.  We are EXTREMELY grateful.  Tate's language continues to get better and better.  His pronunciation is not quite 100% but I love it.  Here's a few words/phrases that I wanted to blog so I didn't forget.

dang go-go - jingle bells
hmp - soup
womb - room ("Tate Nuna womb" - Tate slept in Nuna's room.  He was very proud of himself.  Nuna is the Korean word for big sister.)
eyekeen - ice cream (kid loves himself some ice cream)
butter - diaper
chicken white - kitchen light

December was a harder month - it was one thing after another.  I was so happy when it was over.  Janurary has been a bit better (just really cold!)  Two big thing that came out of that time:
1.  We took Tate to the ER cause he had a few seizure during the night and one in the ER.  After tests and an overnight stay, he had febrial seizures which means he can get seizures when he gets a fever.    His fever wasn't even that high - just under 102.  Talking to our pediatrician it's not totally uncommon, and kids often outgrow them - I just wish I had heard about them beforehand.  I would've felt a little more calm.  So we just have to be very vigilant to give him medicine when he does get a fever.
2.  I was "officially" diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and started insulin.  I've written in the past about my diabetic issues - it's progressed.  So that was really fun.

So we've experienced some changes heading into 2013 but overall doing well.  I had a conference this past weekend, and it was so fun to come home.  Two of the cutest kids squeezing your neck when you walk in the door isn't too bad to come home to :).  I'm so blessed.

You left out gama for grandma and geekaw for grandpa. Boy are those fun words and worth a few cartwheels when uttered from such a sweet little boy.
Love you,
Mom Minnick

Heather, that must have been so scary with Tate. I would've been so panicked. Glad he is OK and you know what to do now!
So sorry about your diagnosis. I know you have been fighting this for so long and it must be frustrating. It was good to hear your update. Liv and Tate look so cute and are so big now!
