3 months
Since it's been a month since my last post, I thought I oughtta... Hard to believe little man has been home 3 months. It doesn't feel like it at all, feels like 8. He's just meshed into our family. His language keeps coming. He can understand everything and is now repeating things we say more readily or will just surprise me with a word. The biggest word is "out-tie" = outside. At least 30 times a day (no exaggeration) he says, "Mama?" (and I have to answer) then "Out-tie." And I have to repeat, "outside" and often add a comment about outside. He says it when we are driving, when he's sitting in his high chair, when he's going to sleep. It's not just that he loves going/being outside, but it's his communicating with me. I think it's one word that he knows what it means, and I know what it means - it's out little code. A few more are: tuck - stuck; boop - book; dacket or acket - jacket; cee-oo - cereal. And he just cracks me up. The kid LOVES chips. We did our usual Sunday dinner and a movie downstairs tonight and he went to town with chips and guacamole... and summer sausage. We've also had 2 overnight trips (Fall Retreat and a trip to Saint Cloud), and he's done awesome on both. We are trying to limit how much we're gone, but I'm so grateful he's done so well. He travels so well along with Liv.
Liv has glasses and can read! I'll get some pictures of her up - she's pretty cute :). She's doing well in kindergarten - always has tales to tell about the kids in her class at the end of the day. But I'm so grateful she still loves to cuddle. Sometimes she's so big, and sometime she's just so tiny with her petite little frame and a backpack that's half her size trompin' into school... and now with little glasses. She's growing to enjoy her little brother... it's coming. After 5 years it's been an adjustment to have a 2 year-old in your business.
I'm so grateful for our little family - what a blessing.
