We did indeed get pounded with snow today! The forecast was 12-18 inches. At 11 this morning we'd gotten 8, and on the 5 'o clock new we had gotten 14. I'm not sure if it's completely stopped yet to know the final total. The wind has picked up considerably and is blowing and drifting all over the place. It's hard to tell what's coming down and what's getting blown all over. The picture below was taken a little after 4. It was starting to get a little dark, and though it's hard to tell, it was blowing like crazy!
So we're snowed in and definitely enjoyed our snow day! We did a bunch of shoveling this morning. Liv played outside a bit. We had lunch and naps. Some finger painting and supper. Washed dishes and scrubbed Liv in the tub. A snack, Frosty the Snowman on tv, and bedtime! Now Aaron and I are watching the new Karate Kid. Aaron is icing his back (he shoveled 3x today - the last time to dig our car out). I've got a heating pad on my back, and we're both laughing at ourselves. Now time to sign some Christmas cards!

you wusses! I shoveled 4 times (the last 2 times were just the back patio so the dog would go outside, but I was out there 4 times, so it counts!) and I have neither ice nor heat on my back! :-) This has definitely been a true "snow day" for many! Hope you guys aren't too sore!
Love,
Karen (& Brian - who not only shoveled, but ended up having to go to work in this stuff!)
Way to be a trooper Karen! I feel bad for Brian - I don't envy anyone who had to drive in this mess! See you soon :)
Sounds a lot like our day. We skipped Frosty though and watched Star Wars instead.
I take back my "wusses" comment - coudl use a heating pad today! But I went out to shovel one last time last night around 10pm, and 2 neighbors were kind enough to help me. It still took forever, due to drifting, but I'm so grateful for their help! Without it, I would still be out there. And thankfully, it didn't redrift overnight, so I do'nt have to shovel again this morning! Yay!
Hope you have a great day!
Love,
Karen
